Yes, you are required to read all of them.
Basic Rules
[○] There will be NO god-moding or power playing. You should know that.
[○] Cursing is allowed, but just don't go overboard.
[○] No graphic breeding. Let's keep things around PG-14, okay? The first two letters are ih.
[○] In IC threads, no posts with just OOC unless you're dropping out (going away, leaving, etc). Any other OOC comments in IC threads should be limited, and be at the top/bottom of the post.
[○] All posts must have a minimum of 300 words. You must also use proper grammar, spelling and use the capitals/punctuation while making an IC post. No chatspeak, or mixing the caps (i LiKe YoU, mArE) when typing IC. That's a really big no-no.
[○] Respect fellow members, no sexism/racism, etc.
[○] There is a limit to up to 3 characters per account. One character per account is allowed to own a Virtue or Sin.
[○] If you complain about how 'awful' your post is, one of the admins may edit that OOC bit out. If you really think your post is that bad, why would you expect us to read it? Have some pride, darlings.
Responsibilities -- Leads
[○] Both stallions and/or mares may rule a land. However, if the mare is challenged in a fight for the land, there is a 5/8 chance that the stallion will win. The next two letters are av. The roleplaying and physical form of the two opponents also play a role into who wins; see the fighting rules further down in this guide.
[○] Lead mares/ stallions have equal rights. The leads may both claim members for their land (according to the claiming rules; incredibly important), steal mares/foals, choose their betas, have authority over the other members, share respect alongside any and all other herd leaders, and control the general situation of what's happening in their land.
Responsibilities -- Betas
[○] The betas of each herd are second-in-command, next to the two leads.
[○] There may only be ONE beta, mare or stallion, per 4 members. (0-4 members you have 1 beta, 5-8 members you have 2 betas, etc) The lead appoints the betas in an IC conversation of some sort.
[○] The betas are appointed their responsibilites by the lead; if the beta were to have all their powers, they could claim mares/foals/wandering stallions, stand in for the lead in a battle, and have various unofficial statuses such as ambassador, border patrol, etc. The next two letters are er.
[○] Betas have some authority over the other herdmembers, but not as much influence as the leads.
Responsibilities -- Herdmembers
[○] As a herdmember, you must post in your Sin/Virtue with other herd members, betas and/or leads at least once every two weeks - it is important that your land stays active!
[○] You may accompany the leads/betas when they're claiming, but you must have their IC or OOC permission first. The next two letters are ad. :: OOC meaning that you can ask the roleplayer themselves if your mare/stallion can accompany their lead/beta, and they may answer yes or no.
[○]Try to encourage some kind of plot or betrayal in your herd! It could vary depending on the sin/virtue that's dominant in the herd, which could make things very interesting and fun to roleplay. Isn't that the point of this all? =)
Fighting -- General
[○] All fights begin with the challenger making an opening post, and the opponent then posting back their arrival.
[○] From there, each fighter posts 3 detailed posts with absolutely NO godmoding and powerplaying, though it is the responsibility for each of the roleplayers to judge whether a certain 'lunge' hit their character or not.
[○] After the third post from both players, the admins in charge of judging the battle will base their decision by detail and the quality of the post, grammar/spelling/all that wonderful stuff and fairness/reality (ie, to lead to a better chance of winning, your character would not dodge every single attack done by the opponent; for obvious reasons). The next two letters are th. It is important that you, the roleplayer, sticks to your character's strengths and weaknesses during the battle. If they are, in general, lithe and speedy, it isn't naturally possible for them to do a sudden strong, powerful comeback.
[○] Two admins will discuss what they think together, and come up with a final result in which they'll post after deciding.
Fighting -- Steals
[○] You have two options for stealing: riddle-based and fight-based.
[○]You may steal anyone from any herd.
[○] However, for every 3 herd members that lead has, you may only try to steal 1. For instance, if the herd only has the lead and two members, you may not steal one of the two members.
[○] For riddles, you must post in the stealing board, and make a riddle for the rest of the Psychomachia community to figure out. Yes, it is the whole community. The next two letters are er.
[○] Only leads or betas of a herd may block a steal. If you think you have the riddle figured out, post '[your character] blocks [horses being stolen]'. However, only one guess is allowed per land, so leads and betas may want to check with each other before posting the block.
[○] There are no real limits to what you can do in the riddle. However, after one week, you have to reveal the riddle if nobody guessed correctly. However, you must explain your riddle and why it was so-and-so's mare/stallion; if admins/other members object and say that it was impossible/too difficult/etc, then the steal is canceled. [If you had a mare stolen from you, don't say it was 'impossible' - if everyone else agrees it was a good, fair, riddle (including admins), it's still valid.]
[○] For fighting, make a challenging post on the fighting boards, making sure to state the herd member(s) you are attempting to steal at the bottom.
[○] The challenged lead will either accept or decline the challenge. If they accept, a battle occurs based on the rules above. If they decline, you get the mares without fighting.
Fighting -- Challenges
[This is describing how to challenge a lead for his/her land.]
[○] First, you must post in the auditions board, and post an IC challenge directed towards the lead. This post has to be approved by an admin, and then you shall continue to the next step. The lead being challenged should acknowledge that they're being challenged, by posting something OOC.
[○] Second, you [the challenger] shall make an IC post in the Battle Grounds, calling forth thy wished stallion. Now, the fight begins.
[○] Refer to the fighting rules two categories up to know how the fight will work.
[○] Whoever wins will become the new lead, as well as the mares (if there were any) that had been previously claimed. ;P
Birthing/Foaling
[○] The breeding must be done in the breeding grounds. Not the Sin or Virtue, not the foaling grounds, not the claiming grounds. Etc. If your horses wish to breed inside their homelands, the breeding does NOT count for a foal, and any IC content must stick to PG-14.
[○] The mare is to make the first post, a small entrance IC-blurb (keeping to the 300 word minimum), keeping it to PG-14, and the roleplayer has to post the stats (listed below) below the post. The stallion must only post with the stats, and then it's done.
[○] After the stats are listed, an admin will post the name, gender, colour and birthing condition of the foal.
[○] To actually have the foal, the mare must wait 1 week after the breeding process before going to the foaling grounds. In the foaling area, she is - and the stallions are not allowed here - to give birth to the foal according to the details the admin specified in the breeding grounds. In accordance to time and muse, you may post 1-3 posts of the mare birthing the foal. The next two letters are ul. Kudos to you if you make more then 1 post.
[○] After the 1-3 posts are done, feel free to bring your foal into your lands anytime you wish.
Breeding stats you must post:
-Name:
-Gender:
-Colour:
-Markings:
-Height:
-Gender:
-Colour:
-Markings:
-Height:
Claiming -- Stallion/Mare claiming a land
[○] Auditions for becoming a leader of a Sin or Virtue are handled similarly to land claiming on other RP sites: you post, trying to prove yourself worthy of the land, and the admins judge. Here we are slightly pickier, though.
[○] Please post on the proper Claiming board and not in the land you actually want.
[○] Mind the 300 word minimum for posts, and remember that QUALITY > QUANTITY.
[○] Only try to claim a land with a character who is very representative of that sin or virtue. Meaning, he/she must be claiming one of the five sins/virtues mentioned in the 'Represented Sins/Virtues' section of the application. In your claiming post, you must represent the sin/virtue appropriately, otherwise the admins may not deem you worthy of the land. Believe it or not, we do decline some posts. Be aware of that, and try your best.
Claiming -- Herdmembers
[In this category, the instructions directed to what the lead should do will be represented with L:, and the mares/stallions who are being claimed will be represented by C:.]
C: [○] You will begin by posting in one of the three claiming lands, like any other wild horse RP site. Though, below (or above, your pick) your post you must put the five represented sins/virtues of your character. The final two letters are es.
L: [○] The ONLY leads that may claim the mare/stallion MUST have a land that is specified in the mare/stallion's five represented sins/virtues. For instance, if a mare's list is Gula, Humilitas, Patienta, Luxuria and Ira, only the leads from those lands may try to claim her.
C: [○] After your claiming post, wait for as long as you like until your next post. From after the leads make their first post and onwards, it is the same claiming process as any other site.
L: [○] If you arrive late, REALLY don't worry, it's quite possible that the mare doesn't lean towards one sin/virtue as much as she does another, and that other one might be your land; go try out, it's never too late.
C: [○] In response to the above, be open to other leads coming in a bit later x3
And that's it! Hope you found the password to the joining board up there. ;P[/blockquote]
