As she tumbled onto the shoreline, the mare let out a heavy sigh. The swim had been a short one onto the island, but still it had left her tired and water logged. She shook herself, sending water droplets flinging all about and shattering onto the pearly white sand like little diamonds. The mare’s mane hung limp around her neck, and stuck out a little in a wild fashion, partially covering her eyes and masking her scar. The only visible flaw that the mare had on her strangely colored bodice. She must’ve looked pretty odd to the wandering eye, if there was any, as she stood there on the shore. Waves gently lapped at her heels, as she sunk a little into the sand. Glancing to and fro around her, Soliloquy began to step forward. Daring to go deeper into the peaceful lands around her.
Soliloquy was cautious, yet she wasn’t really expecting anything to come out and try to get her either. She was a peaceful being, relying on her calm, poised attitude more than anything. The mare believed that fighting was not the answer to anything, unless if measures were really stretched out to that then would she fight. Or if her temper had gotten the best of her – which mind you, hardly ever happened. Soliloquy was a kind-hearted being as well, her thoughts went out to others before herself. However, just because she was one who believed more in peace and putting others before her didn’t mean she was a lazy equine and stood around watching the world go by as it whirled past her. No, Soliloquy liked to watch it pass but as much as she wanted to, the mare couldn’t just stand along in the sidelines. She learned that sometimes she needed to get right in the action.
The mare’s hooves made sucking noises from the suction of the sand and her wet hooves. She trudged along through the odd terrain and finally got a grip on things once she found herself wandering into the cover of a tropical forest. It was a bit humid and damp within the dense foliage, but she pressed onward, curious as to what these lands were like. Things just got more and more interesting, and the island was such a beautiful place. Her blue, almost white eyes glanced around with wonder written all over them. There were all sorts of palm trees, ferns and wild grasses all throughout the sandy earth. Food wouldn’t be a problem here, there seemed to be plenty of it. And the shelter was more than adequate enough to hold a herd of horses.
Pausing for just a moment, the mare bent down to take a taste of the wild grass that tickled her legs. It was sweet and tasted like rain, its juices slid down her throat as she munched silently to herself. A rather loud bird called out, shattering the silence. While most would shy at the sound the painted mare merely stood there, looking around for the culprit. She found a colorful being sitting high in the trees above her, Soliloquy whinnied a greeting to the creature before continuing on her way. The mare walked through the palm forest, making almost no sound other than her breathing. The scent and sound of water came to her twitching ears all at once and her gait picked up to a little trot.
And there it was; a rather large pool of water. The surface was smooth and unrippled, giving off the look of glass. The water just had a sense of cleanliness to it, and seemed like it was more than just something for drinking. Soliloquy didn’t know that it was fabled to have medicinal powers. The mare looked all around her, a smile on her muzzle before she parted her lips. Speaking to the silence, to anyone or anything that was around and would listen to her. The mare’s soft spoken lyrics rippled out into the silence; "I am all yours, so please be all mine."
